Koi Day Spa Receives “Outstanding” Review by Avid Spa Goer
I just spent one of the most glorious hours of my life in Koi Day Spa in White Rock, BC. This little boutique spa is a hidden gem to me and I’m fortunate a friend of mine treated me there for my birthday last month.
After spending the last 14 years as a loyal customer of Absolute Spa at the Century in Vancouver, I am a converted lifer of Koi Day Spa after only two treatments. The care they put into what they do is far beyond anything I have experienced at a day spa before and the people are so genuinely warm you feel like you walked into the arms of your best friend.
Today I had their signature facial, which changed my mind about facials all together. Prior to today, I wasn’t a fan. I have tried them in several different spas and I’ve never enjoyed them. However today was very different.
My treatment started in a warm and cozy room lit by candlelight. The lush heated bed felt soft and luxurious under my skin. Each of my five senses was spoiled during my hour at Koi. The handmade organic skin care products smelled so delicious I would have happily eaten them throughout my treatment. Instead I got to enjoy tasty chocolates and San Pellegrino.
Mood goes a long way in receiving a spa treatment and Koi executed their’s beautifully through the warmth of the room, the sounds, and subtle smells surrounding me. However I believe their greatest was their technician, the person who treated me. Incredibly aware of her every move, from the volume of her voice to her every touch, she was aware of every inch of my body and cared for it tenderly.
Though expecting only a focus on my face, I received a relaxation back, neck, head, arm, leg, hand and foot massage throughout the different stages of my facial, which turns out is standard of Koi’s Signature Facial. This one just one of many pleasant surprises I experiment during my treatment today.
Additionally upon my leaving, I received a goodie bag of free samples of my products, rather than a sales pitch trying to sell me on them, which I too frequently encounter, along with perfectly packaged information about my skin type and the treatment I received.
I went into Koi Day Spa today feeling exhausted and slightly ill, but left feeling gloriously rejuvenated and at peace. There is no other grade I can give Koi Day Sp’s Signature Facial than “outstanding”, and rest assured, I will be back for more.
